Coca-Cola Collector's Fair 2012

Have you been to the Coca-Cola Collector's Fair 2012 happening once a year at Publika last Saturday (10.11.12)?

I have a friend who loves Coke a lot that she even named herself as Cola and since I haven't been seeing them for months, they asked me to lunch with them before we head over to check out the fair.

Upon arrival at Publika, suddenly it hits me that my colleague is a super Coca-Cola fan and I was told that he was the president of Coca-Cola Malaysian club and true enough, I saw him there - with the brightest smile I've ever seen throughout my 1 year of working with him in the same company hahahaha...

I commented that he looked very hyped and jovial and he simply replied, "I'm doing something that I really enjoy doing today". I guess his manager won't be pleased to hear that....

Cola fascinated by the variety of Coca-Cola collections on that day.

They took 6 months to plan for this fair and they even managed to secure some sponsorships from Coca-Cola company such as the unlimited flow of Coke on that day, backdrops, etc.

So you may ask - What is this fair all about?

This Collector's Fair was a chance for the Malaysian Coke lovers/fans to showcase their collections (only) or even selling them there on that day! My colleague, for instance, only wants to showcase his collections wtf.

We were obviously fascinated by all the limited edition collections, merchandises, or almost everything that were displayed on that day :D

Siok Yim, Cola and myself.

Each of us grabbed a can of the free flow Coke before leaving the place :) Thank you F&N for the free drinks! Heheee...

I bought the mini Cola-Cola 4GB thumb drive for RM20!

And absolutely loving it! <3 p="p">

They will be heading the Penang next year so Penangites, take note!!
Have a wonderful weekend everyone! ;)

Dreamz Bakery, The Strand Kota Damansara

Since I've been busy lately with my events and projects, the girls suggested to have a whole day outing since we hadn't met for quite some time and it happened right the day after my event (they don't even give me a chance to sleep!).

The day was planned out as such - brunch at Kota Damansara, boutique shopping, karaoke at Loudspeaker, high tea at Dreamz Bakery, dinner at Paramount and pasar malam. Yes, 3 mid-20s ladies behaving like we have the stamina of young teenagers LOL.

Accidentally snapped this while using front camera as mirror LOL!

I was really happy to find out about this quaint little place recommended by Florence because I absolutely love everything about Dreamz Bakery from the interior to the friendly staff to their yummy mille crepes!

We arrived pretty late at about 5.35pm and the place was half full and we were left with few selections of mille crepes only.

They usually have 9 varieties for you to choose from.

Macarons @ RM3.80/pc with 6 flavours to choose from.

A variety of cookies, candies and handmade accessories for sale.
Absolutely love this corner!!

How adorable!

Can you see that wall with many brown papers pasted on? You're allowed to paste your little note there! So cute!!!

If you don't like the idea of sitting on the floor, you have a second option.

High stool seating.

We were left without a choice (again!) but to go for high stool seating as the other section was fully occupied and was rather noisy.

Love the little touch on each table by the owner :)

Since they don't serve or deliver the cakes, you have to place your order, make payment at the counter and collect your orders from there as well, hence we kept seeing people walking up and down to check on their orders. Not very sure if this applies to main courses or not though.

Vanilla (RM9.50) and Tiramisu (RM9.80)  mille crepes/layer cakes.

Behind the scene hahahaha

In my honest opinion about the crepes, I liked it. Yes, it's not comparable to Nadeje in Malacca but this is decent and surpassed my expectation (after trying Opera, Food Foundry, etc) so I'm happy with what I had there. Another recommended one is Humble Beginning!

If you like milky taste, you'll like the vanilla flavour although I find it a bit too sweet for my liking so I find myself enjoying the tiramisu one a lot ;) After browsing through the net by other bloggers, apparently their rum and raisin flavour is recommended by many! I want to go back there for it nowwww!

With Teng who's going to be a boss soon! Congrats!

With Florence who recommended this place to us :)

Seeing the photos with both of them, I realized that time really flies and how much our life has changed throughout the years. To 14 years of friendship and thank you for being there for me through thick and thin!!!

It is not easy to spot their cafe since it's located upstairs so be sure to bring your GPS along LOL.

Events Attended for the First Half of the Year!

Finally an update after 5 months of hiatus!

If I have to provide a good reason for the lack of update, I would say that my life is far more exciting than staying behind the keyboard :p Life has been treating me well with many events and outings that I'm unable to blog them all!

So many places, food and activities that I want to share with you guys but I've been really, really busy with work as well as personal life but starting from today, I promise that I'll try my very best to update whenever I could without compromising on the quality of each post/review.

Here's a quick update on the events I've been to lately before I hit the sack.

CLEO 50 Most Eligible Bachelors 2012

Invitation card and goodie bag (not impressed at all with their goodie bag!).

Was invited to the event above as a VIP. Yes, please be very jealous.

Dress Code: Sexy Sporty

Seriously, I felt damn cheated by the dress code because I was being silly to have faith in Malaysians to dress up according to the theme and ended up looking like a joker because everyone else dressed to the nines!

Next time anyhow also wear prettily to parties!! Screw the dress code!!!

Accompanied to the event by my 2 beautiful colleagues ^^

The 3 of us kept whacking on the finger food because we went there without dinner and we were famished! We felt so embarrassed because the rest of the people were so "atas" and they weren't eating at all hahahaha

I don't pretend where ever I'm at. I'm hungry, I eat.

Krabi Trip 2012

I went on this pretty last minute trip with friends to Krabi and I thought of blogging about it since the photos taken were quite pretty (if I may say so myself :p) but since it has passed for a couple of months, I'm not sure if you guys are interested to read or not.

Probably I will because I realised that all my popular entries read are my travelogue and food review :)

Nick, Kei, Cax and Jac.

He's not my bf wtf I'm still not off the market. This photo's up because I think I looked quite "chic" here hahahaha

Had quite an enjoyable time in Krabi despite the place didn't live up to my expectation. I love the sea and white sandy beaches in general so I'm not going to complain ;)

Eat and drink the way the locals did.

Ohya! Because we were so bored there, we actually went fishing omg! My first fishing experience and I caught the BIGGEST fish that day! :D

I was hiding behind that man because... because... I was afraid of live fishes FML.

The other 3 can't stop laughing at me for this because they can't believe a tough looking girl like me are afraid of small thing like this T_T

Will blog about Krabi after sorting out the hundreds of photos taken!

Jay Park Showcase in Malaysia 2012

Please be jealous again.

I got free tickets to Jay Park's showcase so I dragged my guy friend along who's into K-pop and we enjoyed ourselves although it was a short one (about 1 hour?).

All I can say is, Jay Park is pretty cute and shy in real life! ;)

Southern Visit

Due to work request, my colleague and I went down to Johor Bahru (my first time despite being a Malaysian!!!) and Malacca for a couple of days. It was an enjoyable trip despite working from day to night and it's fun to be treated like a VIP too :p

I must admit that there's nothing much we can do in JB and the malls are pretty rundown. I'm not saying this because I'm a PJ girl and I'm comparing the malls here with JB but I'm saying this in a general point of view.

My stay in Malacca was brief but fun! The local rep brought me around while my colleague provides training to our BAs and we had eally good local food - not those commercialized places with long queues that you usually see!

Would love to pay Malacca a visit again soon!

Steamboat Party

The glorious food for more than 20 pax hand washed and prepared by me alone in the kitchen after work. Hard work ok!

Ever since we had this mini primary school gathering last December, we have been pretty close to each other and we kept organizing yamcha and dinners together. A couple of months back my friend offered her bf's party house for us to throw a steamboat party, gambling and drinking.

We even went for a night swim at the pool and the guys pushed me into the pool when I was caught off guard! Forever I'll remember that moment wtf.

Despite being bullied by you guys most of the time, I still love all of you nonetheless!

The people above are about half of those who came that day and whom I'm close to. The rest I don't bother lah! LOL!

Guardian Annual Dinner

Theme: A Touch of Orange

I know it's not peach and not orange. I don't care because I don't want to look like an orange walking around! I'm already very round wtf.

I still can't believe I was chosen to represent my brand and company with other managers!

The representatives from my company with the Guardian peeps!

My ranking's the lowest some more! Intimidated T_T

Guardian Customers' Choice Award

About a month of 2 after their annual dinner, here comes their CCA and I'm chosen to go again.

Door gift.

Guardian worked with Evian to come out with this limited edition Evian bottle. I gave it to my friend who collects Evian bottles and she's damn happy! :D

With my beautiful colleague in front of the backdrop.

HOT Magazine 200th Issue Party

The dress that got praised upon arrival. Dress got praised. Not the owner.

Event was held at Stage, K.L. and it was my first time in Stage! Quite a nice club I must say!

Overall, the event was quite fun with many local celebrities who came to support like Amber Chia, Chelsia, Liang, Kenny Sia, etc. Goodie bag given was okay - at least better than CLEO's hahahaha :p

Chilling out at Jalan Changkat.

Since the night was still young when the event ended so I brought Kenix to Jalan Changkat for a drink and people watching! Banyak angmoh hehehehe

Beauty Workshop

My very cute and funny colleague.

My brand just had an event/workshop last month and I have to admit that this event was a last minute request from my manager and it gave me sleepless nights prior to the event day. Everyday worry about the recruitment, F&B, decorations, etc.

I'm in-charged of everything about the event from A-Z!!!

I was the emcee on that day.

I also have to do presentation and product hands on.

"Great news" was, I woke up with a fever, flu and cough and up until today, I'm still amazed at how I managed to pull through the whole event from morning till late evening under such condition.

All in all, I gained even more valuable experience through this event and I'm so glad that all participants who signed up earlier actually turned up - making this event a successful one.

Management team.

I'd also like to give a big thank you to my team who helped me through this with your unconditional support and encouragement.

Apparently after this event, we'll be having even MORE events coming up FML. Moreeee stressful days coming up! T_T

Cherating & Kuantan Road Trip: Day 3

It's the last day of our 3D2N trip and I was glad that we get to wake up a little bit later for the complimentary hotel breakfast buffet.

The breakfast was okay. Not absolutely great food with many choices to pick from but the fresh orange juice was nice. I drank like, 3 glasses of it wtf. Actually, only the orange juice was nice.

Thereafter we took a last stroll around our hotel as well as to the dirty beach to look at how choppy the sea was before heading back to our room to pack our luggage and check out.

No picture of the beach because I don't want to ruin people's holiday to Cherating during the monsoon period. Yes yes, you can thank me.

Doing what others may do when they don't have to drive hahahaha....

We are cool because we have sunglasses on hahahaha

Thank you SO much Angie for driving us around for the past few days *touched*

On the way home, we made a pitstop at Sri Jaya because Shu Yi wanted to buy her family's favorite pillow bun from Sin Tong Kok Restaurant.

Will show you the photos later.

My friends and I came across their egg tarts and was trying to guess that flavor in orange color. I guessed it was pumpkin while Angie guessed it was mango.

Can you take a wild guess???

It's carrot.

Yes, carrot egg tart my friend =A=

Angie and Siok Yim were being very adventurous by purchasing a box of egg tarts with the carrot flavor above. I was being very safe because I picked only the pandan and original egg tart flavors.

Very nice teapot and cup :)

Glorious Chinese food.

Food was much better than our dinner on the night before and most importantly, the fish's fresh! I love to eat fish but sadly, I still don't have milky skin like Siok Yim T_T

Pillow bun from Sin Tong Kok restaurant, Sri Jaya.

I have no idea why it's called pillow bun because it definitely looks like a BOLSTER to me instead! If my memory serves me right, I think they have it in 3 flavors - kaya, black sesame and peanut.

I bought all 3 to try and my fav is none other than the kaya flavor :)

Bolster Pillow bun.

It's cheap (about RM5-7??) and HUGE!

After a hearty lunch, we continued our journey to down south and stopped by again at Bentong because we really wanted to try the "famous" dessert shop - Kow Po Coffee Shop.

There's this great hype about Kow Po for being one of the famous ice cream shop in Bentong and it's a must-try whenever we are there and hence, we deliberately made a trip there again just for it because it wasn't opened when we were there on the first day of our trip.

Let's see what's the hype all about.

Ice kacang and cendol.

We ordered 2 bowls to share because we were still very full from our lunch earlier and instead of asking us what flavors we would like for our ice-creams, we were given vanilla and chocolate randomly.

After I read from the internet, apparently their durian, pandan and coconut ice creams are the popular ones!! CIS!!!

My verdict? Overrated. Again.

I admit that their ice-creams are smooth but other than that, I don't find anything great to shout about. Sincerely, I thought the ais kacang that we had on day 2 was even better wtf. Or rather, we can easily find better ice-creams in KL or PJ. Sorry people :(

And.....

DAMN YOU BLOGGERS FOR EXAGGERATING YOUR REVIEWS!!!

Do drop by if you are at Bentong and needed something cold to cool down. Don't make a trip all the way over just for it. Save your petrol and toll.

Kow Po Coffee Shop
No 2, Bentong Heights
28700 Bentong
Pahang
10am-7pm, closes on every alternate Monday
(located at the row of shop lots opposite the bus terminal)

I insisted to have a group photo because it's a norm for any trips!

Last group shot :)

Overall, the trip was fun but I must say that I'm a little disappointed by the overhyped food reviews by the bloggers about how awesomely orgasmic great the food was for all the places we went to only to find it to be just an "okay" or "good". Not to-die-for.

But Hai Peng kopitiam is a musttttt go!!!

When you are at Kuantan, you might want to try out Satay Zul because it's apparently very popular too! Satay Zul is listed in our itinerary too but we were too full to eat anymore so we decided to skip that since we can have *cough* Kajang satay *cough* in Klang Valley.

Sorry if I offended any Kuantanese readers for saying your food is "okay" and "good" because I reckon people need some honest reviews here. Blame on the food bloggers who created such high expectations on us!

Read our Day 1 here.
Read our Day 2 here.

Have a great weekend ;)
